Before signing a lease:

If you are a royalty owner who has been approached by a landman who works for an oil company, you certainly want to do your research before signing a lease. Also, it might be a great idea to become more educated and informed if your neighbors or a relative is being approached by a landman so that you are prepared for such an eventuality. That landman has one objective: That is to get you to sign a lease which transfers your owned minerals to the pocket of an oil company most likely at the lowest possible cost. They might be paying you hundreds or thousands of dollars, when you are due millions. Also, there can be many problems caused by an oil company having potentially careless access to your treasured land surface.

Already signed a lease:

If you are a royalty owner who has already signed a lease, we pray that you looked for and found yourself some trustworthy experts who have helped you work through the entanglements and entrapments by those who were eagerly waiting for you to sign your precious and valuable rights away to an oil company – many who we have encountered who are certainly not to be trusted.

Review your lease at no cost:

It will be a positive experience for you since we are there to give you our guidance based on our many years of experience. If you have already signed a lease, we will ask you to email or mail your lease to us, so we can review your lease at no cost. That way we can determine if you have a lease that you should ignore since it is so small or if you have a lease that needs your undivided attention. The tragic thing that often happens is that a grand parent knows everything you need to know; however, they did not pass down readily available documents or any knowledge to their heirs who now have to struggle to come up to speed.

Ownership is fragmented:

We have one great client whose grandparents had one of the largest ranches in the world that was loaded with mineral ownership. Now, at this late date, the ownership is fragmented and spread all over God’s green earth. When you have a family spread all over the planet, it is difficult to get them to trust each other and work together for the mutual benefit of the family. It takes at least one poor soul in the family to spend the rest of their life trying to recover anything at all from the corpse of a once-great ownership. When generations ignore their ownership, it literally begs unethical operators to falsify leases and/or to drill wells where they do not have an ownership. They can get the first, major production and then quickly sell or trade the wells to another oil company to help prevent a mineral owner from recovering their stolen minerals.

Taking action:

If there is a reason that you want us to perform a review for you, we usually ask for a deposit which mentally shows your positive choice for taking positive action – at least you will know where you and your family stand and you all can sleep better at night knowing the facts.
